Find your place
Search for your address, a nearby town or road, or tap your property on the map to see how environmental flows might reach it.
See the flows
Move the slider to see how far water might spread at different environmental flow levels. Flows are measured at the Wagga Wagga gauge.

Project phases
Phase 1 Darlington Point to Balranald, 2025 to 2026. Includes the most affected properties.
Phase 2 The rest of the flow corridor, 2027 to 2031, subject to further funding and approvals.
The upper flow limit is significantly below the 2022 flood level and below minor flood level in most areas.
Tell us what you know
You know your land best. Drop a pin to share where water goes, what it affects, or a question for the team. Your local knowledge helps check the mapping.

Get support
If higher flows would reach your land, you will be invited to talk with the program team. Agreements are voluntary and every landholder is supported throughout.
How it works
- Check your place on this map, then register so the team can contact you.
- Have a conversation about your property and how flows could affect it.
- Negotiate a voluntary agreement under the Landholder Negotiation Scheme, with compensation where agreements are reached.
- Minimal impact? The program is exploring alternatives to easements, such as a deed of release.

About the project
Rivers in the Murrumbidgee valley connect to wetlands and floodplains less often than healthy ecosystems need. The Murrumbidgee Project will establish an environmental flow corridor so flows of up to 40,000 megalitres a day (measured at Wagga Wagga) can reconnect the river with its wetlands and floodplains.
Once the full corridor is secured, these flows will connect with over twice the area of wetlands and nearly triple the extent of river red gum forests and woodlands compared to current conditions.
Timeline
- Phase 1 · 2025 to 2026
Agreements with most of the most affected landholders between Darlington Point and Balranald. Scoping public works, First Nations measures and a better flow notification system.
- December 2026
No higher environmental flows will occur before this date.
- Phase 2 · 2027 to 2031
Secure the full flow corridor and negotiate with remaining landholders. Subject to additional Australian Government funding and continuation of the Basin Plan.
- After 2031
Flows above current water sharing plan limits, up to 40,000 ML/day, cannot start until the NSW Minister for Water declares all negotiations complete.
Public infrastructure
Includes the new Mundarlo Bridge near Gundagai and raising Mundowy Lane near Collingullie.
